More About the Offer
Leeds Arts University will support care leavers interested in applying to study there as well as care leavers who are already studying there.
Foster Family Fun Days - Leeds Arts University hosts Creative Coffee Mornings for foster care families during Easter and summer holidays. They offer a meet and greet in the canteen, refreshments, a campus tour, short presentation and a creative activity for all to join in. The University also offers ad hoc tours for looked-after young people who are considering the possibility of proceeding into studying art and design, accompanied by either a Foster Carer, Designated Teacher or Social Worker.
Pastoral Support - At Leeds Arts University – Care Leavers are encouraged to discuss with their personal tutor their status, so that extra support is put in place if needed. ‘Peer Buddies’ are matched with care Leavers for support during transition.
Summer schools and weekend activities - Run by Leeds Arts University, ‘Young Creatives’ is a vibrant and inspiring collection of arts-based courses aimed at students aged between 7-18 years old. Fee-waiver bursaries are available for looked after young people to attend Saturday Art School and Portfolio Workshops.

In addition, support for care leavers is available in the form of a contribution towards the cost of their travel expenses to attend the interview. Further institutional information is also detailed on the Propel website to inform students of support available.
Accommodation - Leeds Arts University accommodation can offer year-round contracts upon request. The accommodation is secure with 24 hr security on the door as well as electronic key access.
