More About the Offer
The Black Country Living Museum is the UK’s third most- visited open-air museum has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors through its gates each year. The Museum is spread over twenty six acres, creating a ‘living historical place’ with a village and charismatic residents to chat with, trams to ride, games to play, things being made and stories being told.
Provision has been made for two care leavers to undertake volunteering work placements with the Museum. Placements will last for three months and will include a travel pass.
Currently volunteering opportunities exist in:
- Costume making
- Events and activities
- Food and drink
- Communications and marketing
- Outdoor projects and maintenance
- Retail and customer service
- Visitor engagement
- Human Resources
The offer to care leavers includes regular mentoring sessions aimed at developing skills within the work place and supporting them in their daily life.
