Summary of the Offer
Improving access, performance, experiences and progression for care leavers.
More About the Offer
The University of Bradford will support care leavers interested in applying to study here as well as care leavers who are already studying here.
Foster Family Fun Days - We offer a wide range of fun, family friendly activities, inspired by the variety of subjects taught across the partnership. This is a great opportunity to visit the campus and have a go at something new.
Pastoral Support - We provide care leavers with additional pastoral support throughout the student lifecycle with named care leaver contacts across the partnership. Named contacts facilitate a coordinated approach to pastoral support across the University.
Contextual admissions - Entry onto the Clinical Sciences course at the University of Bradford (either directly or via a foundation year), allows students to study science and health studies, and can lead to a career in medicine, the healthcare sciences and other healthcare professions. This collaborative course provides an opportunity for widening participation students (including Care Leavers) entering the foundation year to progress to the MBChB programme at Leeds Medical School.
Accommodation - The University of Bradford offers year-round accommodation including important vacation times.
Website Support – A dedicated site for care leavers who are thinking about coming to University and could benefit from schemes to help them progress into higher education, and receive extra support when they arrive.
The University of Bradford is committed to raising awareness of Children Looked After and Care Leavers and we do so by organising numerous events throughout the years in partnership with the Care Leavers Association, the Local Authority and Bradford College.
