Summary of the Offer
Stand Out is an employability and mentoring programme for young people
More About the Offer
UpRising was founded in 2008 to build the leadership and employability skills of young people from diverse backgrounds. Since then, we have enabled thousands of unemployed and underemployed young people from Black, ethnic minority and White working-class backgrounds into work and leadership roles.
Stand Out is an employability and mentoring programme for young people aged 18-25, run by UpRising and One Million Mentors. It is four weeks of skills-based workshops, from October 4th - October 29th, covering everything from building a 10/10 CV, creating a personal brand, staying resilient, how to ace that interview, and more. Participants will benefit from one-to-one support from industry professionals, providing CV feedback and hosting mock interviews. Following the four weeks, participants will then benefit from up to 12 months of dedicated support from a trained mentor.
In order to support care leavers on the Stand Out programme, we will provide tailored communications towards them in the form of a video. We will also provide a dedicated named contact for care leavers during the programme, who they can go to with any questions or concerns. As well as this, we will hold 5 priority spaces for care leavers.
